Is there anyone free on 30th March?

Hello， Geneva:)


I am Enhui (Serena), I'm from Inner Mongolia, China. I'll be an intern in IBJ from April. I'll arrive in Geneva airport at 7 am on 30th this month. 


I cannot get into my rent place until 6pm, but I still want to have some fun during my first day in Geneva. (maybe just wonder around the city) I know it's workday that day, so I'm crossing my fingers to hope there's somebody is free enough to explore the city with me that day. I'm super easy to get along. I speak chinese, english and german. 


Any suggestion on how can I spend my day in Geneva (which is totally strange to me) will also be greatly appreciated!

Hi Serena


Though Im not from Geneva but Basel area, I suggest that you take a  walk along the lake and now and then go for something to drink on the cafes. There are plenty of them around. I would love to accompany you but Im from Basel.

hi and welcome soon in Geneva.


As said by Dorothy, have a walk along the lake. Visit the botanical garden, some parks, the old town and some shops (that's always interesting).

Hi Serena.


Have a safe trip coming here.


Walking along the lake or around the old town is nice. (But if you're going to be lugging around your bags, it's going to be a bit of a hassle.)


It's going to be sunny tomorrow, so yeah, you can go on a picnic at the park :-)


Anyway just a sample itinerary to start your exploration,


if you're going to ride Bus number 5 from the airport, you can get off at Nations stop to see the 1) flags at the UN 2) Broken Chair 3) the UN Palais des Nations 3) other UN agencies -- WIPO, ITU


then from there, Bus 11 or 28 can take you to the Jardin Botanique (Botanical garden near WTO).

unless you can leave your bags at your rent place, there's some lockers at the train station where you can put them.


Love the idea of the picnic, shame I'm busy on that day....


 


with the bus tickets you can take the small yellow boats (called mouettes) to cross the lake and go to the other parcs on the other side.
