I have been here for two months and am looking for a nusery school /creshe for my son who is 2years and 3 months old.
I live in Meryn and have already contacted the commune here who told me that i have to wait till September.
Apart from the ones in my area, does anyone know of any place that i can take him. He is really getting bored at home and am afraid september seems too far.

You can try some of the private Montessori and nursery schools... but they charge some 12'000 + per year.
Alternatively Gymboree might be an option for an hour or two per week to get him accustumed to mixing with other kids. I think there is one at La Praille.
There is a mums group on Glocals too which you may tap for info.
Its unlikely you will get a free space in a state run school before the next school year starts (ie Sept).

This has to be checked with the manager if you call. If you want to give it a try the name of the place is Interactive Language Centre (English school) and the kindergarten that's part of it is called c'Hiboulette. It's a private place.
It's a bilingual place English and French, and we do a lot of activities (circle time, songs, gym, crafts, educative sheets...).

There is a playgroup that I go to in town on a Wednesday morning, I will send you the details if you would like? There is a playgroup called Kiddie Club which runs in the mornings which I think is more like a creche. Also check out Geneva International Playgroup, send them a message to get your name added to the waiting list. Hope this is of some help.

There is a trilingual Swedish-French and English-French school in Meyrin. It's private and I think it's full up for the regular school year, but they may have places over the summer when the regular kids are on summer holidays.
