Renting a bed

Hi all - looking for some help if possible. We have some family members coming in Dec and I would like to hire a double bed base and mattress only for 5 days. I have had one quote for CHF540 (delivery and pickup) which I thought was pricey. (perhaps not in this town...) Any ideas gratefully received otherwise may be cheaper to go to my old mate Ikea...

Hi Jeffery,

I don't have a double bed,  but I have a couple of pliable beds (something like the one in this link). You can come and take it for the days you need(for free, that is). Keep it as an option in case you didn't find anything more suitable. (it's an exchange for your friday jokes which I enjoy :-P ).

Good luck!

Hello, Jeff!

I was going to suggest buying a couple of folding beds with mattresses but Sinan got in first with his generous offer.

Unless your guests are absolutely insistent on having a double bed, I’d recommend folding beds as a worthwhile investment and they’re easy to store.

R.

So it’s Christmas in CH for you this year then?

How about an inflateable double bed? i think I remember there has been a couple of threads on the forums before with advice and about where to purchase these plus the pump if separate) , but can't seem to find them.. maybe someone else on here can help who has one?

of course they would be diretly on the floor, but some are quite high

You can find  more luxurious ones in migros  http://www.micasa.ch/fr/meubles/chambre---coucher/lits/lits/lit-d-appoint-gonflable-vidal/pp.403445300000   and http://www.sportxx.ch/fr/intex-shop

Conforama http://www.conforama.ch/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchResultsView?inputSearchForm=mateas+gonfable&storeId=10051&langId=-16&catalogId=10601&cyberedirect=no

and this site gives more options http://fr.toppreise.ch/index.php?search=Lit+Gonflable

Tthere are more simple ones at Vedia  but look as if they would be lower on the ground so maybe not suitable http://www.vedia.ch/fr/matelas-gonflable-confort/

Hello,

I also have a spare double bed and mattress I'm not using. You could borrow them as long as you take care of the transportation.

Hi Jeffrey

We also have a beautiful, comfortable double blow-up mattrass. It is electrically-driven. Hardly used at all - only for the occasional extra visitors. You are welcome to have it for free as long as you collect and return to Evian. Please let us know. You can collect any time.
