American Beer / NFL
The NFL season really starts today and personally I like to have a good cold one for the games.  In Paris I had to drive 30 minutes to find Sam Adams.  Anyone know where I can get a good US or UK ale in Geneva?  Guiness is always good but pale or brown ale is more my style.  Thanks!

"ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL??"

I don't even live there yet but I hear Lady Godiva Pub by Uni-Mail and Pickwick's Pub might be a good place to watch the games and get good beer.  Give it a shot!

I'm especially interested in seeing how Favre does this year....all NY is anxiously awaiting how this turns out for the Jets.  But my heart is with the Manning boys... I'm a New Orleans girl so I have to root for the hometown boys.

Have a great NFL season! Good luck to your team.

Coop here in Lausanne has Sam Adams... I just bought a six pack of bottles a couple of weeks ago for the trip to the Chalet Grutli.

All I can say is your best bet is a sunday evening to catch an afternoon game State side, unfortunately Football aka Soccer is god over here so unless there is no game of significance I dont like your chances in Mr Pickwicks or Lady Godiva.

Having said that Green Bay vs Detroit was on at the Lady Godiva yesterday. They are pretty accommodating so if you ask they will try their best (as a group did). As I said, Football is King, even us rugby supporters get the short straw.

Good luck

4 years later / late :) but another World Cup.

I just found a new store in 'Geneva' that has over 555 beers

and about 100 spirits. With a pretty good selection of Whisky's or Whiskey's.

I was amazed in the beer selection, with over 8 Canadian, 12 Belgian, 40 american , 60 English, 10 greek, and hundreds more, etc.

I dont work there or any commercial interest, but just the love of beer and this was an excellent discovery.

I found the website that also includes list of the stocks.

'Drinks of the World', Gare de Cornavin (in train station next to starbucks & Gidor Coiffure) www.beerworld.ch

I talked to the Manager who ordered a special bottle of Irish Whiskey, got it in a few days and got a 10% discount.

and when I compared prices, they are pretty competetive :)
