English speaking curling team in Geneva?

Hello there fellow Glocalers,

Just to brief that I have been playing curling for some time back at home before I moved to Geneva. I would gladly like to continue this novel game here in Switzerland. Just by accident, I ended up lost in a parking lot of Geneva curling club and realized it is possible to do it here on french speaking part of Switzerland as well!

Now when the season is soon starting, I would like to try to find a team to join. I found geneva curling club but could not find any indication of English speaking teams. Any of these teams around here in need of an extra player who is basically born to move on an ice? If not a team can be found, any indication where to ask more would be highly valued as well.

Best,
Petri

Got to admit that I'm the one to take blame for the too few replies...

I should have used indeed words like football or even more popular topics like DATING or similar. Shame that I cannot change the topic anymore to more attractive one like "English speaking curling team? Dating in geneva / exhausted of deleting casual sex offerings from my inbox?" Wink

There was a place that advertised Curling evenings here a couple of times and I was the only one who RSVPd so they were cancelled... I couldn't get anyone interested in giving this sport a try :(

Thanks, I will try to find the event and people who were associated with it to ask randomly if someone know about curling teams.

Why do you have to speak English when curling?.  I thought gaelic was more appropriate but the only time I watched it on TV, it seemed to me that all the teams were making the same sort of warlike sounds.

Well, you know, when one doesn't speak language, the strategy talks might go little off :)

And now a team where one could even translate some of the talks to me is enough.
