Hi,
Unfortunately I can't help you about the physiotherapist. I hope someone here can tell you.
But I'm a somatic practitioner and I work on post-op recovery. It's a body therapy focused on trauma release, residual stress and pain reduction. With a developped attention towards the way our body reacts to the pain and the fear, and connects both our nervous system response, our emotional response and the body itself.
We can talk about it if you wish.
Hope you'll find what you need !
Happy Easter,
Mathilde
PS. This event is about intensive processes of recovery possible end of next week : http://www.glocals.com/things-to-do/geneva/99036.htm

Hi, I know a very good pysiotherapist.
Best, David
Dear Yana, if this is for "back surgery recovery", you should be asking the doctor who performed the surgery or the general practitioner who refered you to the surgeon. Only they would know what specific regime of physiotherapy to recommend given the kind of surgery you underwent, and who to refer you to.
Otherwise, I would advise to go a team setting where physiotherapists work directly with doctors, surgeons, sports medics, etc and where you will find well-trained, experienced physiotherapists specialized for each condition. I would recommend the Physiotherapy department at La Tour in Meyrin, or at HUG's Hopital Beau Sejour at the Centre Hopitalier Universitaire. The Beau Sejour has more equipment, but La Tour has all you need and there you will get individualized attention from a physiotherapist during your entire session (I think fees are 90 chf for each one-hour session).
Unless your back surgery was minor and superficial, any inadequate physiotherapy treatment may lead you to full apparent recovery, but years later you may wonder why you are experiencing back problems.

Actually, a physio session is up to 30mins. Unless you've had mutliple "body parts" operated on - in that case it woud be considdered as a "complex" therapy and would be 45mins long. As physio is part of the base health coverage it will be reimbursed by your insurance (wether it was maladie or accident). A session costs between CHF48 (for accident) and CHF52 (maladie).
I agree with JR with his recommendations although any physio office in town is capable of taking care of you:) But i do have to object to his last sentence.....many factors can be blamed for chronic pain later;)
Hope you recover well! Take it easy!

I don’t know if this guy can help you but he is well known for sport injury recovery. Very busy guy. Might take some tme before getting an appointment. If not him, he might refer you to someone else.

Thank you all for the advice, I have already asked the surgeon and he said he doesn’t have anything in specific to recommend, any physio office would be just fine. However, since I had spinal fusion of nearly my entire spine, I would prefer to have some recommendations. Thanks again!
