Hi all, does anyone know of a guitar shop that does repairs or services electric guitars? Mine has a srious problem at the moment, in that when plugged into the amp,only produces a loud buzzing noise and nothing else even when you strum the strings. I think it needs some expert attention. Is there a good place in geneva, and if possible one with reasonable charges?

There's one in Carouge, The Works. They did a very good job with my acoustic guitar that broke. If they don't do it themselves they outsource it I think. The price was reasonable in my case. Good luck!

The guy there was really nice, took one look and immediately knew what was wrong, and fixed it faster than it took to make a cup of tea, or an expresso, whichever takes your fancy. He also only charged me a token amount (almost seemed a bit embarassed to actually). Anyway, thanks Onne Wan for the recommendation!

jaja! my pleasure! so glad it worked! I know how stressful can be when your instrument or amp doesn´t work! and I had exactly the same experience you described in Guitar Solo before! (after trying to fix my bass guitar in Barcelona without success). Conclusion: Guitar Solo rocks!

I believe they went on Boulevard Saint Georges about half-way, which is still in Plainpalais district. Good luck!

Guitar Solo is now on rue Vieux-Billard, just off the plain de plainpalais.
I haven't actually ended up having any repairs done there, but there is a shop called Vincenti Guitares (http://www.vincenti-guitares.com/) in Jonction that specializes in building and repairing acoustic instruments. I had some work done on a mondolin and they were great.
