Thanks for your interest. The place I know is Vernets, which is by the river near Plainpalais. If anyone knows any other place to play badminton that would be a useful info. They have been a bit weird with the bookings lately.

Where to buy? Depends on your budget. If you want a reasonably nice one then go to a sports shop. There will be some choice there as well. But dont expect to find cheaper than 50 fr and sometimes they might have these 'cheap' ones out of stock meaning cheapest comes at 100fr. A friend of mine bought a 10fr racket in a some big Migros shop somewhere in geneva. I guess it depends on your level as well. I like to pay a bit more for so that the racket is lighter and "whacks the air better".

Once you are all equipped maybe we can organise something.

I think as my skill level is not too high, a 100fr racket is probably not going to help me much. I'll go for something in between. I see intersport has some reasonably priced rackets on their website so I might head over to St Genis to get one.

I think you misunderstood my point. 100fr doesnt mean its a top of the range racket. 100fr is considered a cheap normal racket in geneva sports shops... because this is geneva. But yes if you go to France you can probably get the same racket they sell for 100fr for 30 euro.

hey, I play weekly but on irregular basis, there is already a group on glocals dedicated to badminton and they used to be active organising weekly events but its died out, i think organiser left geneva, so you can start a new group, my post was just to increase the number of people i know who can play with me, i dont organise any special events

I just bought a pair of rackets last week-end in France. It was just €12 Including 2 shuttle cocks. I hope I could finally play this week.. 

How much will it cost to play in a badminton court?

In the place I usually play, http://www.ville-geneve.ch/plan-ville/sports/centre-sportif-queue-arve/, it is 14 per hour per court. If one of the persons is under 26 and can prove it it is 7. So then it would be 7 or 3.5 per person per game, or half that if you play a double.

Yes, still here and playing every Tuesday. Except for the next two weeks, as I will be away. We are two to three people usually. So no problem to join in. We've been playing for maybe three years now and it is quite a steady thing. Location at Queue d'Arve.
