Not sure about Geneva; in Lausanne, there is a great jazz club, Chorus hosting well known musicians on weekends, and up-and-coming students (free of charge) on Thursday nights.
The Cully jazz festival will take place from March 31st to April 8th and the tickets are already on sale: http://www.cullyjazz.ch
And finally, the Montreux jazz festival will take place from June 30th to July 15th. The program will be available on March 30th and the tickets will be on sale as of 10:00 am on March 31st (they sell out quickly)

At the Arcade (106 Rue de Carouge) there is live music almost every Thurs and Fri. There is sometimes jazz and never a cover charge.
