Living in France Voisine - Urgent Community Support for General Modalities

Lovely Community,

We are a small family moving to Geneva for work with short notice.  I count on some sound advice on what we need to do when we get there to properly live in France Voisine.

I am an EU citizen and my daughter is Swiss and French.

We want to rent a small flat near the border with Geneva

My daughter wants to attend school in France.

What administrative steps do we need to make as soon as we get there to be able to

rent a flat and register her to school?

so, so many thanks to all of you

Lydia and Marie-Laure

Hi Lydia,

First stop is the Mairie of the town you choose to live in. They will be able to register you and let you know about schools and everything else you need to know.

You can search Glocals for keyword Frontalier for more information about cross border living, I have wrote a few things in the past.

Also there is a dediciated association for frontalier as well. http://www.frontalier.org/

Let me know if you need more info.

Welcome to Geneva!
