Looking for information on Bealieu, Grangettes & HUG Maternity wards

I'm looking for information on Bealieu & HUG maternity wards.  I would like my OBGYN to perform the delivery however she only has working relationships with Grangettes and Beaulieu. Our insurance is semi-private and I believe we would be fully covered should we opt to deliver at either of these clinics. Though both clinics seem nice, and have positive reviews, I am struggling to find information regarding how equiped/prepared they are at handling any problems during delivery should something go wrong. Is it best to just deliver at HUG and opt out of having my OB perform the delivery?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello
I worked in Beaulieu and I think if you have a complementary insurance you will be better ... Also: you can ask for information by ecirit also to compare .. The hospital is good ... let's not forget that we are in Switzerland, but for the tranquility ... you will be better in private ...

Hi Hanifa,

Thanks for your feedback. In case of an emergency would Beaulieu have to transfer me to HUG or is it equiped to handle any problems there? I read on a few very old posts  (dated 2004) that newborns and mothers in distress were transfered to HUG  but there are no new posts with information on whether this has changed.

The HUG is a teaching hospital where the majority of Geneva’s medical specialists trained and worked until they could set up in private practice.

If accommodation is an issue, you can also opt for private or semi-private facilities.

Best wishes,

R.

Hello
Ritchie it's just ...
In addition HuG is not far from the clinic ... And care in private is always more pleasant if it is possible.
Brenda, you have to relax ... You have to start talking to your doctor and take any information ... He will guide you. In addition most of the doctors have their place of predilection for the interventions. You have to start to calm down and everything will be fine ... The professionals know how to do their job well ...
I am at your disposal in private with pleasure.

I’ve been a patient in both the HUG and a handful of Geneva’s

private clinics. One of the latter is on my black list.  I’d never ever return unless there was absolutely no other option.  HUG may be a little less cosy but what matters is the availability of the most sophisticated equipment and practitioners who know how to use it.

If you think you might have a problem go for HUG.  If not, just do as Hanifa suggests and relax.  Getting uptight doesn’t help anyone, least of all the child.

All the best,

R.

La Clinique des Grangettes is great, both my sons were born there.

Excellent food too!

Their emergency ward is great as well.

You can't go wrong there.
