Im trying to locate sour cream. You know the one that is used in Mexican food. I tried Coop and Migros near my place and cant find it and they are bigish (sort of).
Anyone knows where it is hiding and what is it called in french?
Thanks :)

I buy from coop. The creams have different colour writing on the label and the sour cream (creme acidulee, or something like that that) has light blue writing. Of course it is possible I have been buying the wrong thing for the past year, but it tastes good with tacos

Maria,
I always buy sour cream at Migros at the Airport. Maybe you could ask a staff member the next time you are there?
Good luck.

You should be able to find it in most.. if not all - most likely.. Migros and Coops, as Rudi above says, as creme acidulee

Hi Maria,
I get it in Migros..(even the smaller ones..) it's called Crème Fraîche, brand Valflora. Just under Creme Fraiche to the left it should say, Sauerrahm, Creme Acidulee, Panna Acidula.
The one with the blue stripe is natural and the one with the green stripe has herbs in it...really yummy :)

Creme Fresh :) It is a little more liquid than 'sour cream' but works well, and it is a bit fresher too, as the name implies.
Yogurt can also be a decent sub for sour cream in a pinch(the plain kind!)
