Winter tires?

Anybody knows a good place to buy winter tires or all-season tires?

More specifically, I am looking for 245/65 R17 tires, which apparently were not easy to find yet

Many thanks,

Avi

try http://www.reifendirekt.ch/

they are cheaper than any garage, they deliver in 3-4 days direct to your door. delivery and taxes included. they are usually 40-50% cheaper. you should pay for  tires balanced and mounted about 20 sfr. per wheel.

Hi Just be careful with Pneus Claude. Our tyres were being changed we knew we needed 2 new ones. The man checked with the other looking at the tyres and said yes needed 2 new tyres then he said what nationaility are they 'English' so then he turned round and said we needed 4 new tyres. Unfortunately for them my husband speaks french and said 2 will be fine. Now we don't go there!

I now go to Speedy - they changed my tyres free of charge and only change tyres that need changing!!

That is a large size winter tyre, had the same issue looking for 245/40 R17s ...

Try Emmanuel (Manu) at garagepitstop.ch (022 341 15 18).  He is generally very helpful and can often find stuff that is maybe off the usual stock lists.  The tyres he found for me were from Nokian, as I wanted H rated large winter tyres that people like P.Claude simply don't stock.

I'd imagine after this week in Geneva many people are looking for winter tires. It has been quite slick with all the ice! Especially around parking or entry/exit ways less traveled.
