I can recommend my doctor. She works from the Vidy Med Clinic (down by the lake).

Dr. Slyvie ANTONINI REVAZ

Vidy Med

Route de Chavannes 11

1007 Lausanne

021 622 88 50

She speaks English. Her secretary only speaks French so you will need some French to make an appointment.

I can recommend my doctor:

Jean-Pierre Boss

avenue des Jordils 5

1006 Lausanne

His wife is also a part of the practice if you prefer a female doctor

Speaks English as well.  Receptionist speaks French but I was able to make appt speaking English - we managed.

Hi,

Does anyone know a GOOD doctor (generalist). By "GOOD" I mean a kind of doctor, that is keeping his knowledge up to date and that is not sticked to his ooooold books and to his knowledge that he has acquired 20 years ago. A doctor that reads medical reviews and studies and that is quick and effective. Thank you in advance!

Eva - if you don't mind the trip to Nyon, my Doc is very good.  Female, young-ish, fluent English, Asian and a qualified acupuncturist and practioner of TCM.  She's very approachable and "on the ball".  She's also very into preventative medicine as well.

Dr Anita Newton Letovanec - 022 362 17 00 (opposite the station - Rue de la Gare 45 - don't be put off by the building!).

The receptionist speaks enough English to make an appointment.

Thank you Carolyn! I will probably give a try. Just to precise, I don't need necessary an English speaking doctor.

Hi all - I've just arrived in Lausanne and managed (unluckily) to catch a bad cold on my flight over.. I think I should get an antibiotic, as I am familiar with all my symptoms. I'm only here for 2 weeks, but wouldn't like to be sick for my two weks here...

Does anyone know of like a quick clinic that could provide a check up and prescription? Any advice is greatly appreciated - thank you!

Your best is to go to Vidy Med which is near the lake. It has a walk in clinic portion. It is open on the weekend but depending on the number of cases, you might have to wait a while so take a book.

You should take someone who speaks French because I doubt that the reception nurses speak English. You should take cash and Visa as I imagine they will want you to pay for the visit on the spot since you do not have Swiss insurance.

If you do not have access to a car, there is another clinic in the Flon. Can't remember the name but if you go down into the Flon, you will find it.

For a local GP in Lausanne who speaks English and French and German:

Doctor Christine Roullier Avenue de Rumine, 20 Lausanne.

If U need a US licensed MD for US paperwork, U can contact me.
