Can anyone recommend any good books for learning French?
I've not bothered with French since I was in school 12 years ago and back then it was my worst subject. So to have to come to Lausanne and be surrounded by the stuff....I really got to study!

Which books in particular are good?
There doesn't seem to be a standard accepted one like with other languages

Bonsoir Craig
You can go to the library in Vevey or in Lausanne (bibliotheque municipale Chauderon or to the BCU). Inscription is free and they offer a good variety of Langage books. Otherwise the CLE International books propose good exercices. Quite expensive (CHF 40.00) but super quality. They also work with them in Language courses.
Bonne chance! Daniela (or Heidi;-))
