Au revoir New York, bonjour Genève!!!
Howdy everyone!

I was a bit hesitant to join and introduce myself, but nevertheless here I am. Now that I´m completely convinced this is NOT a dating site :), I like to say hello.

Random facts about me:

* One of my earliest memories was finding a chicken drumstick underneath the couch cushion of my neighbor´s house and feeling shocked, disgusted, and confused as to how/why the drumstick was there

* I once slept through a 5.3 earthquake while living in California

* In my opinion, pigeons and rats are in the same category

* I will always finish a book I start - even if I dislike it

* In 2006, I almost lost my life in the Dominican Republic

* When reminded of Bush, I try to avoid letting people know I´m American

* I dream of dancing in the rain in Siena

* In college, I became addicted to espresso, root beer, and red bull (all together)

* While traveling through 5 countries in 6 months, I was robbed 2 times

* I admire those who recycle

* My dream job would consist of hosting an international food tasting show in which I get paid to travel and eat delicious food

If you´re still reading up to this point, I´d love to hear from you!

Cheers,

~Kathy~

I just noticed that WOW WOW upside down is ¨MOM MOM¨....in any case...

Hi Stef!

Thanks a bunch for the generously kind (and accurate) comment :D I hope to meet a few interesting folks through glocals. Have you gone to any of the activities? If so, what do you make of them?

Ciao ciao,

Hey Kathy!

so you're now already here in Geneva?

don't hesitate to join any activity YOU find interesting. seeing you've got the courage to go bungee jumping, attending an event is a sinch.. unless it's a JulianT activity in which case i say 'take precaution' (an inside joke... which I'll explain when we meet)

welcome!

(a fellow NYer who's about to head back 'soon')

Hi YouMeCo!

Thank you for the welcome and the well intended advice. I will remember this for sure! I actually saw an event you´re hosting that I was debating on contacting you about. I´m a September baby myself and would be interested in your Virgos birthday celebration.

On a side note, where are you from in NY? I actually spent most of my life in LA (dare I do say), but lived in Manhattan the last two years before moving here. Would love to meet and chat up!

Ciao Bella,

~Kathy~

ooh... another September baby. Great!! well what are you waiting for? send me an email on your exact birth date and i'll fill you in on the details (which you already see anyhow on the activity board).  You'll have a wonderful time at the party (guarantee) and you might even win a prize in our charity raffle!

I grew up in Rockland, work in downtown, and live across in Hoboken.

see ya.

Hi Kathy,

If you like to dance salsa and meet new people, this party is for you.

Tony's Bar is organising a very special SALSA party next Saturday, from 9:30pm. All the necessary ingredients for a nice party will be there : a friendly atmosphere, good dancers coming from Lausanne, Bern and France (Lyon, Grenoble, Annecy), delicious drinks and very good music (salsa, mambo, guaguanco, cha cha cha, latin jazz, bachata, zouk). Come and join all the salsa community of Geneva!

For this special occasion, 4 DJs will be mixing the best songs of salsa music:

DJ Therese (Lyon, France)

DJ El Flaco (Geneva)

DJ El Errante (Auxerre-Besancon, France)

DJ Faniatico (Geneva)

Tony's Bar

10, Quai de la Poste

1204 Geneva
