Did you get yourself on the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Facebook group for Bern? If not, you should request to join.
It's often that people post activities or suggestions for things to do. Or simply ask the group who's doing what on a given evening.

Your situation sounds exactly the same as mine. I live in Burgdorf which is 15 minutes (with the train) far from Bern and usually I'm really getting bored here, especially on a weekends. So, if you need company, let me know :)

Best place to start is the Tuesday night drinks ... if you go a few weeks in a row you'll get to know the 'regulars' :)
