Hi everyone! I've just arrived in Lausanne this month from the USA to start a job at Nestle. I'm just getting settled in here and learning my way around, and would love to have some company as I explore town (restaurants, bars, museums, etc.). I attended my first GLocals event last night and was impressed by how friendly everyone was - I'll definitely be coming out for more events in the future.

I'm also looking forward to exploring the rest of Switzerland/Europe - have half-price train card & will travel - so suggestions for things to see and do and/or company on weekend trips for sightseeing/hiking/skiing are welcome. :-)

I hope to meet many of you soon!

Hey Lisa,

Welcome to Switzerland! I am from Maine. Been in Brig for 2.5 years. I always end up in the sticks... but great hiking and skiing down this way- I can point you to some good places.

Hi John,

Good to hear from another New Englander! Haven't made it out towards Brig yet, but I'll definitely be in touch for suggestions when I get out there. I imagine I'll be spending some time in Valais once ski season comes around. :-)
