Right, hello..(already said that haven't I)...hi!
Well, I can't say that I'm exactly new to Zurich. I've lived here for close to eight years now, know quite a few people and generally have a great life here. So what am I doing here?
Well, every once in a while I like to try and expand my social circle...call it an inner yearning (hmm, I realise now that I actually hate that word)... every so often I long to enrich my life by meeting and getting to know some great english-speaking people. I miss the "englishness" of life, if any one else out there is warped enough to understand what I mean.
Now don't get me wrong, my dad is Swiss, my mom is Kenyan, I speak fluent German/ Swiss-German and English and life is great here. Alas I had a british upbringing in Kenya which I very much tend to miss here...the wonderful English language (and by English I mean generally..I don't want to start receiving hate mail from patriotic Americans and the like...although it must be reiterated that British English is in fact truly the only form of proper English ;)), English humour, english-speaking friends..and by that I don't mean english-speaking like "We'll see us/ hear us later"..as cute and annoying as it sounds depending on the person saying it...etc.
I'm an easy-going, uncomplicated person that would like to make a few new friends and add them to my group of funny/sweet/rude/caring/couldn't care less/some almost-always-under-the-influence-it's-a-miracle-that-they-still-have-their-livers friends whom I think the world of because they're as demented as I am (and some even more, which is rather comforting to me).
Well, I thought I'd give the world in here a shout and hope to hear from someone soon.
Cheers!
