I may be moving to Geneva from the USA for my job. I have been checking out the site and reading up on Geneva but I was wondering if anyone had any advice for someone thinking they may move?
For example, maybe you wished you had done something different when you moved, decided you hate Geneva all together, or wished you had negotiated a higher cost of living increase? Any advice is welcomed, if I do move I'd prefer to learn from your mistakes so I will make fewer!

If you have time I would suggest you start studying French BEFORE your arrival

I hated Geneva when I moved here and I'm only adopting slowly, very slowly now. When you come from a big place full of people at any time of day and even night then you may find it quiet here. Glocals helped me a lot as I've met a lot of friendly people.
Finding an apartment can be a challenge as everyone will tell you. I was lucky as my relocation agency found what I more or less wanted. Negotiate the salary well, as the cost of life is quite high here.
Good luck!
