Newbie in Geneva - from France

Hi everyone!

Just found a job in Geneva (gonna actually start 1st of May) - looking forward to meeting new people and discovering the city! Don't hesitate to get in touch with me, I really wanna make new friends ;) Also interested in exchanging my French for some Spanish and practice my English (fairly fluent as I spent 18 months in Dublin).

Finally, I'm currently looking for an apartment in Geneva so any tips is more than welcome as it seems to be quite a pain to find something decent ;)

Cheers!

Hi Chloe,

Welcome!

re: housing - depending on where you are working, it might make sense to live in France. The prices in Geneva are easily double for comparable-sized accommodation, and the quality is not particularly high, in my experience. The Swiss also have some curious local habits, such as no laundry machines in apartments, only shared facilities in apartment buildings ... but these can only be used at allocated times by tenants. That's my tip. :)

I'm also happy to exchange French-English, as I need to improve my French ... :-/

Ciao,

Steve
