Hiya, my name is nikki and i have recently moved to france. i live with my boyfriend and work as a nanny. i am looking for people to make friends with! i know that sounds a bit strange but i dont speak french so find it hard to mix with my boyfriends friends and miss having my own life and independance. perhaps you are in a similar situation? i like to think i am a lot of fun. i especially like talking and dancing, i really miss going out and dancing the night away with my mates and i love chatting to people! i am fairly positive and very smiley however like all good brits, i do enjoy a good moan. please dont hesitate to contact me if your in a similar situation or maybe you know of a place where you can meet people more normally! i look forward to hearing from you, nikki.

Hi Nikki,

Just join different events through glocals. Last Friday we had a girls night out and there will be more events coming so check glocals regularly and sign up!

I am in the same boat! I am also working as an au pair and just arrived a week ago. Any interest in getting together for a coffee in Geneva? I have Thursday off if you're interested!

Hin Amanda, that sounds great. I am working everyday except for weekends however I dont start until lunchtime so meeting up would be great. I dont really know my way around Geneva just yet and will have to take the bus to get there. Im not sure where exactly it stops, somewhere in gare Cornavin. Hi, I'm also new to glocals, and I feel exactly like you feel. I lived in here for a year, in Lausanne and don't really speak French too.  I also live with my girlfriend and am bored and tire and have no friends to do things or just chat with.  I also miss my old life,  in other words you just discribed how I been feeling living here for a year, God.  

Anyway, I am here to support you and let you kow I am here too raising my hand to somehow together put an end to this and to start fiding ways to get to what we like. I live in Lausanne, and if one day are here with your boyfriend or alone, let me know so we can walk around Lausanne and do whatever... Ok.  Until then, good luck to both and let's hope for the best.

Hey! I'm also new to glocals, I arrived last monday in Geneva for my new work here, and even if I am French and that I speak French it's a bit hard now as I am new in town and I know nobody :(

I even miss my last experience as expat last year in Moscow:( I am mostly used to be with english speaking or spanish speaking people.

So anybody intersed by organizing a drink one evening after work here in Geneva or something during the WE, I am ready!!

Hello all!! I am also an au pair from Canada!! I have been here for a while and seem to be doing alright but it's always nice to meet new girls! Let me know if you guys ever need anything, even a playdate for the kids. My little boy is 3 and would be more than excited! All the best and hope to see you guys soon!
