Squeezd in at l'Alhambar - Friday Nite
So last nite was a big squeeze at one of the nicest places to have a drink in G'va...the super l'Alhambar. We had Ulli, Walrus74 (coming on time and warming up the seats for everyone : ), Tero99, Lams22, Momali, Cols, Claudi (who bravely ventured out into G'va nightlife with us finally!), Tiya, toudido + friend, Nouchie and Zuelkhee, BBoy, Soul3Soul, Luca + friend and Tigger.

I'm sure I'm missing some people coz it felt like we had at least 30 of us packed in there, even tho they gave us what I call the "VIP" corner (semi-exclusive with our very own beaded curtains) that of coz meant that we froze our little butts off from the draft from the open door.

Events of note at l'Alhambar included a weird strip show where girl took off her clothes, then changed her mind and put them back on again (?) and our discovery that Walrus74 and Lams22 both work in pharma (and may have access to prescription drugs...more interesting than the strip show I think)

After sufficiently fortifying ourselves for the task at hand, we headed off to Shakers...where I think we all agreed that no amount of alcohol was gonna make the place look any better than it does. BTW, according to posters at the place, next week is the last week it will be open at this location and, again according to the posters, it will re-open, apparently "bigger" and "better"...hmmmm

I'm not sure how the evening ended, as I left before everyone...is anybody willing to volunteer some intel?

well, this was one of the funniest and at the same time toughest weeks a had for a while. work was ok, but going out everey night is really burning you out. as sherri said in one of her postings, not being able to say no to activities is a symptom of being addicted.

i really enjoyed this week. i met lots of new people and of course i saw my friends i found via GOL. alhambar is very nice, you instantly relax when you are there. the drinks are good, thee food is good, the service and the location are really nice as well, so i guess i will go there alot in the near future.

shakers, hmmmmmm, well i must confess i don´t like that thing at all. they are closing it anyway and maybe it will rise from the ashes but as it is now, it is hell. i had the feeling of travelling back in time and i found myself in a smelly ugly cave from the late 80´s. whatever, i learned that not everything in geneva is great.

it was good meeting new people since it seems there is only a very small group of people that are actually attending to activities.
i wonder how many people here on GOL are actually going out with others. there must be other people than just us, but since they are not writing any reviews i have no clue.

i am in germany next week and so i won´t be able to come to any activities until friday. i don´t know how to handle this. i saw tigger, except last sunday, every night this week, i think i will go through a tough withdrawal the next four days. i am scared.

...unfortunately, I have missed both Alhambar and Shakers, but I joined the remaining party animals at Java at 3.15 am. Only three "survived" the previous events - Ulli (the Ultimate socializer of GOL), Luca and Daniel, Luca's friend. All three were the live ad for Energizer - even at 4 they were jumping around the dance floor like there was no tomorrow (I was doing my best to keep up :-) )

Ulli's dance moves still leave me in awe... you are an art work all by yourself, dear. :-) I LOVED watching Luca dance (even though he didn't believe me and said he was afraid people would think he dances like someone with Alzheimers or Parkinsons - NOT TRUE, Luca!!!) In the remaining hour before closing we found out what Luca wants for his birthday, got a scare that Daniel's pants would fall off and offered a quick back massage to Ulli. :-)

That's when the fun part begins. What do people do at 5 am when they get out of a club? Well, probably not what we have done. We went crazy taking pictures at a Photomaton at Place du Cirque (we actually broke the machine.. oops). The hard evidence can be provided on request. :-) ..Then we had some breakfast and found another Photomaton (which was still functioning) and took some more pics :-)

Not enough sleep.. again.. but great memories. To be repeated!
