Any GOL members gone to Singapore?
A Swiss contact told me that Singapore is practically like Geneve because it is very cosmopolitan and several languages and many dialects are spoken. I would very much like to belong to a GOL in Singapore when I return home; and maybe it can be called SOL!

Hello there,

I've lived on your sunny island almost 7 years, and there are a few such websites, but mostly expats oriented (www.expatssingapore.com and such). A quick google will show them to you.
I agree with the comments on the likeness of Singapore and Geneva, apart from the weather and the lack of 24h prata shops in Geneva... This is seriously lacking here.

Never expected to find a Swiss who has lived that long in Singapore.

The only thing I really miss is FOOD and hawker centres with the great variety and inexpensive, extensive choice. What to do. You do know that you can buy prata here but it does not taste the same because the Indians use ghee back home and those exported are the health variety. Ah yes night makan sessions are not the same in this part of the world. Everyone sleeps early? I was on an excursion last summer and shared some prata over a bbq. The children (and adults) who sampled them enjoyed the taste. And I was the only one who brought prawns for bbq which caught many people by surprise! I guess prata, prawns, squid, fish .... are not the typical food for bbq among the Swiss!
