Does anyone have a recommendation for an inexpensive studio or small apartment, not noisy[!] in either of the above please? We have booked from 1 - 8 October. Have looked at Airbnb but their booking fees are horrible, Trip Advisor doesn't have that many recommendations, and Booking.com has a few apartments available. Price range €35-55

I dont know about any studios or anything of that sort, which I know they are quite expensive there, but then there are quite a lot of campsites... just in case.

Prices seem to start at 550 francs a week for 4 people.
Ylou do not say how many you are so if only two you might find cheaper.
If you turn up without accomodation am sure is possible to find esp in October

Do not know the link, just keyed in 'accomodation Corsica' and avoided the ones you had mentioned above. Know it is not the same but my daughter just spent 10 days in Stromboli, Lipari and went there on her own with no accomodation booked (except Naples where she had to waut for ferry) and had no problems finding accomodation and able to negoatiate the price. Everything done on recommendations of local people and other tourists

Update : we looked and looked on English-speaking websites, and then as an afterthought started looking on the French websites. More variety, half the price!

Corsica is a great place for a holiday. Few tourists, authentic food, untouched landscape, a piece of heaven, cristal clear water!

We had very mixed reception from Airbnb - that is to say, the organisation [for which you pay a fixed premium] seems to work well, but it is the hosts who are sometimes not up to scratch. We had a super time in Cahors, but a dismal time in Royans. Difficult to tell in advance, so the best is to read the reviews. If you need a personal view, please PM us.

I have no experience of airbandb, and probably will not have either. I requested 2 hosts for some advance info and now keep receiving many emails plus text messages mostly middle of the night asking to confirm the bookings which I never made..
