I need to drive from Milan to Zurich for business. Can anyone recommend a hotel to stay for one night en-route? (Preferrably on the Swiss half)

Dont know what you mean by Swiss half but since Luzern is on the way between Milan and Zurich I can recommend you Hotel des Alpes and Tripadvisor can be a good help.
