Hi there! I'm heading to Prague this Friday to meet my little brother who is backpacking through Europe. I'm a virgin Praguer...was hoping someone might have some suggestions of cool, off the beaten path types of sites, sounds, tastes to experience. Thank you for your help!

It's a great city with loads to discover. My advice is to simply bin the travel guide and stroll around, dipping into the little paths off of the main streets to explore. A very nice experience is - brace yourself - getting up early and beating all the tourists to the main bridge for sunrise. It's not actually about the sunrise (like other spots in the world are) - it's the silence and mood of the spot before then. You might also run into photographers. Cheers

If you are into jazz, Prague is a great spot to listen to it. I had a fantastic time sipping absynth at the ungelt jazz and blues club http://www.pragueexperience.com/places.asp?PlaceID=713
and it is located in the main square. It also have a good restaurant that serves a fantastic beer goulash.
If you are into techno Roxy club is a must. Famours djs goes there and it is very near old town.
