I'm hoping to go late summer/early autumn for 1-2 weeks with my partner and another couple, and we'd like to find somewhere cool to stay.
Obviously, it being a holiday, we want it all - nice location, swimming pool, beautiful views, fun/historic stuff accessible by car relatively easily, not too near concrete-and-nightclub tourist ghettos, and all for very cheap. We were thinking of an island (possibly Rhodes or Crete?) , but open to suggestion if we can get most of that on the mainland.
Anyone know of anything that roughly approximates to that? Or where else I could look (besides the obvious google search)?
