Where to stay in Boston?

We will be in Boston in mid September for about 8 days and are looking for a safe and affordable accomodation. Everything we found so far was soooo expensive or too far away! Can anybody help? Cambridge or Brookline would be good as also downtown Boston. We can´t pay more than 500-600$/ week.Thanks!

Try http://boston.craigslist.org/sub/ to find short-term apartment sublet . Not just for Boston, but many major cities around the world. The site was started in and most popular in US.

you might find a bed & breakfast (a quick scan shows many less than $99 per night for doubles)

to lower the price even more, contact the inn directly and ask for a discount for your longer stay.
