Winter holiday to Chamonix

Hi! Can anyone please recommend me a good, not too expensive hotel in Chamonix. I would like to go there this winter for a few days. I would fancy a hotel with a nice SPA, where one can relax after a day of skiing. I look forward to your suggestions. Bonne soirée

Hey Tudor,

I just returned from chamonix last weekend and I stayed at Le vert hotel its run by a couple british guys and they were really friendly and the room was good for the cost. They have a bar attatched to the hotel that is aperently great and busy in the winter time.. its a bit out of the center but not bad and right next to a great walking trail =)

It was about 45 euros for a room per night you can book it on one of the two

hostelbookers.com

 hostelworld.com

I cant remember and its cheaper then paying the price posted there

good luck

there is the louvre which is cheap and central, but I doubt they have a spa (trip advisor says it has recently been renovated)! The vagabond is a hostel so very cheap. le vert is great, with a lively bar downstairs, but it is less central than some of the others (however usually they have a guy who drives a minibus for guests - ask about that).... I think hotel richemond and la prieure aren't too expensive and might have a pool or something. Both central and near bus stops for the slopes.

As for a spa, there are a couple of hotels where you can just go in and visit their spas, hotel les aiglons is one if I remember rightly. It might be a good option to go to a cheap hotel and pay to use a more expensive hotel's spa...

Hope this helps!

Both Best Western hotels are nice and have good facilities, with La Morgane having a heated outdoor pool as well as good spa facilities. I am not sure what "not too expensive" means to you, but we thought we got a good deal when we went last year...

Hi, everybody! Thank you very much for your replies. La Morgane and Les Aiglons look very nice and the price/comfort balance appears to be quite good.  I am indeed looking for a hotel with its own SPA. If you have any other suggestions please let me know. Have a great evening!
