We are a group of people practising the Bujinkan art of Taijutsu in Geneva
What we practise is a Japanese Martial Arts Tradition, a form of combat that has been the "forefather" of modern Jujutsu, Judo, Aikido, Kendo. The forms of combat in the Bujinkan has had 400 or so years of evolution during the Japanese feudal wars period, so it is very comprehensive yet also forgiving form of combat as it does not require much physical force as such of the practitioner. The importance is on the timing, direction and harmony of the body’s movements to overcome the attacker.
It is free for anyone interested to come and try out with us for a few sessions, and if you are really "hooked" we will only require a fee to cover the expenses for the rent of the dojo. which currently is 50 chf per month per practitioner. Come as you are, T shirt, loose pants, bare feet to try out. For more advanced training a Gi (black or white or whatever color) is appropriate and we also use tabi (indoor). Summertime we can occasionally train outside in parks or fields so a black gi is preferred as the grass stains will not be as visible on black.
In Geneva we have two teacher grades 5 dan and over to instruct you, and classes are conducted in both French and English if necessary.
YouTube has heaps of different videos which show some of the techniques of Bujinkan, posted by a number of different dojos all around the world, I encourage anyone curious to come and have a look. Whatever your age (above 16), whatever your build.
We train every Tuesday and Thursday 20h30 to 22h in the Judo club of Eaux Vives.
