Mr. Pickwick Pub Quiz - 2017 - Week xx
Monday, October 23rd, 2017 @ 20:00
Mr. Pickwick, 80 rue de Lausanne, downstairs...., Geneva
Are you a know-it-all? Or do you at least *think* you are? Or do you just like to have a good time with a challenge and a drink to let off steam after a Monday at work?
Then, on your mark, get set, QUIZ!
=============
THIS WEEK'S HINT(S): Apparently this cannot be shared publicly. Not sure why. It seems like this would be a useful marketing tool. If someone saw the Hint of the Week and thought s/he knew that subject really well, s/he might come for the first time. Not to mention, if you come without knowing the Hint of the Week, you are kind of at a disadvantage compared to the other teams. Which is not an incentive to join. More like a disincentive. And it's not like it's easy to join the FB group where the hints are.... Anyway....

The Monday night Pub Quiz at Mr. Pickwick is a mainstay of the weekly Things To Do in Geneva. It's been going for many years and it's really challenging, and really fun!
Ten rounds of ten questions each on a variety of topics like: sports, history, music, geography, film, UN, literature, entertainment, astronomy, astrology, fashion, perfumes, capitals, flags of the World, Airports, Computer Terminology, Animal Kingdom, beverages, cuisine, beers, pop culture, TV shows, Olympics, In the News, Bryan Adams, Serial Killers, Religion, Mafia, Cartoons Characters, Chemical Elements, Harry Potter, Super Bowl, and so on.
As the Quizmaster will tell you, "This is an English Pub," so the questions will be weighted to English(-language) questions, but there are always rounds on other subjects, too, such as eg. French literature or Scandinavia.
Teams can have up to 6 people - very strict on this. You are allowed to "joker" one round per Quiz, which doubles your points for that round. To do this, you let the scorer know as soon as the topic is posted for that round, and before any question for that round has been displayed/asked.
I go there every week and it's really fun. Even if you don't want to join every week, consider coming once in a while. You'll meet some fun people, challenge yourself ("Damn! I know that one! It's on the tip of my tongue!") and you might win vouchers for free drinks.
You can call me at +41.79.783.09.90 if you have questions or need to find me.
Then, on your mark, get set, QUIZ!
