Snowshoe hike at Les Pleiades

The weather will be better in the morning so we need to go early. Apparently 60cm of snow has fallen recently!
We will start around 09.45 and walk for about 1.5h then stop at a mountain hut for refreshments then 1.5 h to return to the car park at around 14.00.
Height difference about 150m (1200 – 1350m).

Meeting point:

Parking Les Motalles, from 09.30 for a 09.45 departure.

Travel options:
• At the Parking Les Motalles, at 09.30. It takes about 30 minutes from the Vevey motorway exit by car, maybe more with the snow on the road.
• By train. The train from Vevey leaves at 08.38. Get off at Lally (last stop before les Pléiades, then walk along the road down to the Parking Les Motalles (takes about 10-15 minutes)
• Meet at Vevey station at 09.00. I have room for 4 persons in my car let me know if you need a lift.


14.00 – 14.30 target return time at the Parking Les Motalles.

Things to bring:

Snowshoes, warm clothes (it will be quite cold, well below freezing) warm hat and gloves, water, sandwiches, snacks, sunglasses…
Hiking/ski poles to help both up and down the hills.
A smile & good humour.
