Coming Saturday 23 January, I am organising a snowshoe hike around the Miribel, a summit in the Vallée Verte (Green Valley), about 20 km from Geneva.

We meet at the Swiss-French border at 9h00 and drive to Plaine Joux above Bogève.

The hike will about four to five hours (excluding breaks) and has a gradient of about 500 metres. It is about 8 to 9 km. long. It is a rather easy hike for fit persons with some snowshoe hiking experience or even sporty newbies on showshoes.

If you do not have your own snowshoes, you can rent them in Plaine Joux.

You will need: suitable shoes, poles and gaiters, warm clothes, sun cream and sunglasses, your passport and some Euros, drinks and picnic.

The hike is organised by the small hiking association Oxygene 74 http://rando-74.pagespro-orange.fr/. There is a participation fee of 5 Euro for a daily license of the French hiking federation FFRP.
Non-drivers will pay 6 Euro to the drivers for transport. Cars need to be equipped with snow tyres.
