GREEDY WALK

I noted that there is no Sunday hike planned for Lausanners and Montreuxneurs and having received some support, I have decided to go for it and organise my first event.

The walk is from les Paccots (about a 20 minute drive from Vevey to the hills behind Chatel St. Denis).

The route is about 15 km and will include about 4 hours of walking time (there is a bit of a climb but not too steep). The GREEDY part is that we will stop at 4 separate alpine huts where we will partake of a 4-course meal.

We will meet up at Vevey station around 9.15 am and leave at 9.30 am. I have space in my car for 4 others but we will need additional cars depending on how many of us there are.

Approximate Schedule:
09.00-09.15 Meet at Vevey Station – Front side
09.30 Depart Vevey and travel to Les Paccots

10.00 Start hike from Les Paccots
10.45 Degustation 1: Some refreshments to give you the strength for the next bit - Planchette apéro by the lake

11.15 Hike the steep bit
12.45 Degustation 2: Soupe de Chalet to stop you chilling out too much at altitude.

13.15 Hike the flat bit
14.00 Dégustation 3: Take on real calories (Macaronis à la crème)

14.45 Hike the down bit
15.45 Degustation 4: The reward – Glace au vin cuit

16.00 to ?? Quench your thirst.


Budget:
Cost for four course meal at 4 different restaurant stops: 35 frs (Paid to the Tourist Office)
Add budget for drinks, say 10
Something for the fuel kitty, say 5


What to bring:

1. The normal – hat, sun-cream, walking shoes/boots, sunglasses, water, your comfort items.
2. Spare shirt & shoes (to change into after the walk (your comfort) and so that you do not leave mud and sweat in the car (respect of the car owner).
3. Good humour

Confirmation:
Spaces are limited in the restaurants and they are filled quickly once the weather is confirmed as being good so we have to reserve in advance.

I have made a provisional booking for 12 people but we have to confirm the numbers by tomorrow (Friday) afternoon and make the payment on Saturday morning (the Tourist Office is closed on Sunday and Saturday afternoon).

I am willing to make the advance payment to all those who confirm (by Friday afternoon) that they will be coming and that they undertake to pay the 35frs, even if they have to cancel (or else Feng Shui will be set upon you).
