Before the TV and the internet, people used to gather in the evening for dinner to eat and socialize. They got to know each other and understand each other far better than we do today. They did not chat over Facebook or MSNmessenger to socialize; they met in person, talked face to face and shared their emotions. They sat after dinner, had a wine / tea and listened to stories told by each other, next to a fireplace, which was the only entertainment you can watch. When living by the sea, such tales involved travel experiences of the ocean sailors, thus bringing the entire world into the village.

Let's try a "tell a story after-dinner meeting & drink"! (So for this time, take your dinner at home and come for a drink with us)

To take part in this activity, you can’t just come and listen. (Maybe in the future if we have enough story tellers...)

You have to come with a 5-10 min story to share with the group.

Your story should be in English. If by chance we happen to be all French speakers as well, you are OK to tell your story in French if you are happy to do so.


Invent yourself a new life, pick up a tale from your original region, describe an amazing travel experience, and make us laugh, cry or dream: tell us a story!

We'll keep it a small number as a start, we'll see how it evolves.
