Just wondering if anyone knew of any resorts that migh open already this week-end or the next for skiing?
Preferably in France, bit less of a drive.

Verbier is already open & Villars-sur-Ollon is opening this weekend. 1h15mins from Geneva, from lausanne about 35mins.

la clusaz ski resort opens this weekend and is only 45 minutes from geneva to ski slopes.

many resorts are opened already but only during weekends, i went to zinal last week (60cm of fresh snow), i know saas fee and leysin opened as well.

Avoriaz was open last weekend and is open fully from 6th December. Should be great with all the fresh snow falling this week.

Anywhere good for beginners??? Mate of mine tried for Chamonix, but no beginners slopes open yet, any suggestions?

The beginners areas and easier runs will be open in Avoriaz this weekend... I checked with the lift company as I am teaching beginners at the weekend!
