Help! Where can I ski next week?

My teenage kids are visiting me in Geneva this coming week and I want to take them to experice the Alps. Can someone advice me if it is possible to ski now in mid October?

Any info would help, I don't find clear answers in the web.

Tignes (France) Zermatt (Switzerland) and Saas Fee (Switzerland) are glaciers. Have a look at that!

Glacier skiing is not really for the faint hearted or beginners... it'll be icy and at altitude.

If theyre novices Id wait till some lower slopes open in mid Dec, and take them walking in the mountains instead in the meantime.

There are also lots of other things you can do with teenagers in Switzerland in the meantime.

Reichenbach falls of sherlock holmes fame

Cheese ar Gruyere

Boat trips

Mountain biking

sailing assuming theres wind

just to name a few---

A trip to Aiguille du Midi in Chamonix might be a great option too :)
