Swiss ski resort with easy access from parking lot to slopes?

I am a transplant from Colorado and looking forward to doing some skiing with my 7 & 5 year old boys. Which resorts are the most convenient for going with young children? Important factors include convenient access to slopes (ideally, a short walk directly from parking to slopes), geographic orientation providing sunshine and minimal wind, and good selection of mellow (green - blue, in US terms) slopes with a good lodge/food/services at the base. Great scenery would be a bonus and extreme terrain unnecessary. We have our own skis, so don't need rental. Prefer Swiss resorts because I hear kids under 9 are free.

And, I guess I should add, looking for places with enough snow on the lower slopes at this point in the season

Hi

best resorts for kids close to geneva are Villars-canton vaud and champoussin/Morgins in portes du soleil-valais.

The are quiet, relatively inexpensive , have English speaking instructors and are 1.5 hours from geneva.

further away the 3 vallées resorts -meribel and courchevel are Colorado like easy skiing.

For full info join the Geneva &Lausanne Ski group on the geneva web page

cheers

Thanks for the tips! Between Villars and Morgins, is one either more convenient (from car to slope with kids) or have more snow in the lower slopes at this point in the season?

Also worth having a look at Les Carroz/Samoens, Les Gets/Morzine, Le Grand Bornand/La Clusaz. all are within an hours drive from Geneva (heading south towards mt blanc) and all have excellent parking and access to the slopes

you shouldn't have any issues with snow at the moment :-)
