best place near Geneva to get cheap private ski lessons

Good afternoon all

I am a beginner/intermediate skier and am looking to take some lessons

I took a group lesson in Chamonix last year and didn't find it so useful because the group size was so big that each person got v little attention!

Does anybody know of anywhere near Geneva (can be v small resort) where I could get some good value private lessons? I would imagine it is better to avoid the big resorts but would have no idea where to go!

Many thanks

Joe

Hi Joe,

I would suggest Les Gets, Avoriaz or Les Carroz.

All 3 are smaller ski resorts about 1-1.5 hours from Geneva.

Enjoy the lessons :-)

The closest to geneva is Jura: http://www.monts-jura.com/en/

I live in Grand Saconnecx, and from my place it's 25 minutes to Crozet / Lelex, which is part of Jura. The resort is small, but good enough for non-advanced skiers. The ski scool there is:

Lélex

Phone: 04.50.20.90.42

Crozet

Phone: 04.50.41.01.10

Hi all,

Coudl you recommend any easy (and low!) ski spots around Lausanne?

Somewhere where you can just get in 1 hour, sort of Flumseberg but in Romandie?

Hello Barbara, I can suggest La Tzoumaz, one hour from Lausanne, on the slopes of Domaine des 4 Vallées but cheaper and easier.

And if you get tired of skiing, they have the longest sledge trail: so much fun.

For beginners close to Lausanne, I always recommend Les Mosses - La Lècherette. One of the few stations working on the "points" system. Buy 50 points for CHF 50 and pay 3 points per use of the ski lift.

As you are learning, you may go up 3/4 times a day and that works out a lot cheaper than paying full day price for 4 runs down the slope.

It is a small station with 1 Black, 2 Reds, 2 Blues and a green. But the views are nice and it is not very busy.
