off-piste, foehn warning

Just a word to those tempted by telemark or off-piste skiing: the foehn has been blowing warm air in much of the Alps for the last 24 hours or more, meaning some melting snow but especially a crack forming along the Matterhorn to Grisons stretch. Avalanche warnings are up a bit. Ellen at GenevaLunch

Thanks for adding that - thought I had put it! It's a good bulletin, always updated on Tues/Fri but also when there is anything important happening. National avalanche ctr. site
