ski lessons for beginners

I'd like to learn skiing and group up with other enthusiastic beginners somewhere in the Lausanne area. Is anybody interested in?

Hi Melinda, yes I would definely be interested in some skiing lessons. I believe there were some group lessons organized very recently. Something similar would be great!

Hi,

Are you absolute beginners? Never had your feet on skis? Or did you try already? Please describe your level for me to figure out what these lessons should be about. Do you also need skiing gear?

I've been skiing since I'm 5 and I wouldn't mind spending a quiet day in the mountains teaching skiing to beginners and socializing in the Glocal's spirit.

No charge, just cover my costs (i.e. the ski pass, etc...), possibility to organize on a short notice base seen that we prefer to enjoy a sunny day than freezing.

Let me know if this could be of interet

Hi Pierre,

I'm absolutely beginner without skiing gear and I tried only once (2 weeks ago) as Ali without any succes as well :)

If you have the patience to teach beginners, we 'd be greatful...but I think I need more than 1 lesson :)

Allright!

I see that there are a lot of people interested by my proposal!

May be one of the easiest ski resorts to reach is Villars-Gryon as there is a train going all the way (with change in Bex) in case you do not have a car. You can also have a look at the place through webcams on the website tele-villars. Concerning the gear, you can either bring it with you if you can organize beforehand (rent or lend) or rent it from a shop on the spot, which means that you have to come at least one hour in advance to choose and try out (time flies waiting).

We'll go for a half-day pass starting at 13:00, meeting 12:30 so it gives plenty time to be there on time. Meeting place will be defined later.

Now lets decide when: just give me a couple of dates so we have a spare solution if the 1st one doesn't work for bad weather reasons for instance.

Bye for now

Thanks Pierre. How does the coming sunday sound? I dont have a car so will probably use the train. If there are enough people I can also consider renting a car. Also, could you perhaps recommend a good place to rent the equipment in lausanne? Thanks

You will probably look at a few sports shops in our area and compare their offers in terms of convenience, quality and costs. As I own my skiing gear for ages, I completely lost track of the rental market and couldn't advise you on that - sorry!

Jan 26 or 27 as well as Feb 2nd would be feasible for me. Let's vote !

Hi everybody! I was looking for some ski instructors and I came across this conversation :) We are two people and absolute begginers... We would like to join if it is possible, in addition, I think it could be an amazing opportunity to meeting new people and share some experiences :) Jan 26 or 27 and Feb 2nd would be perfect to us.

Cheers!

Ok!

According to the answers, I would consider the 2 dates: Jan 27 and Feb 2.

Let's first organize for Jan 27.

In order to keep it simple and have one common meeting point for car drivers (parking facilities) and train users (BVB stop), let's meet in Gryon / Barboleuse, at the telecabine, ready and fully equipped, at 12:00

Half-day ski passes are valid from 13:00

Please let me know who will be coming + mobile number for short notice information.

Hi Guys,

I am interested to learn skiing too. I read the whole post. Pierre would you be kind enough to share your skiing wisdom if people turn up for the event?

People, if you are still interested, could you please post here with your preferential dates??

Maybe we could organize something this time.

thanks

Hi all,

Good post ChahatSmile

If Pierre would be kind enough to share his know-how, I would be very interested too! I live in Basel so if I can get a train OK then count me in.

9/10, 16/17 or 23/24 works for me.

Cheers, Cyan
