Hi,
would anybody recommend me a snowboard course you attended near Geneva or in France, one day or weekend with the possibility to rent everything? How much does it cost?
Thank you.

Hi there,
I run Mint Snowboard School in the Portes du Soleil resorts of Morzine, Avoriaz & Les Gets (& Chatel!). We offer a range of different snowboard courses, but will be offering weekly group lessons starting at the beginning of January, running on a Friday afternoon from 1 - 4 pm. The cost will be 4 weeks at 190€ (12 hrs tuition) or 6 weeks at 270€. The courses will run at various levels so please let me know how much (if any) snowboarding you have done before? Details of this are not yet on the website, so best to email on [email protected].
Check out the website anyway www.mintsnowboarding.com and an information article for snowboarders based in Geneva.
Hope that is of help and maybe see you in Morzine this winter!

I have sent an email to your website under contact. To summarize I am a level 5-6. I love boarding offslope in deep powder and in the forest (who doesn't?), but I only do this in Leukerbad (Valais), where I have been boarding every weekend for the past 3 years (I live in Lausanne). On the slope, I like cutting very short turns rapidly, much like skiers...boarding down in a straight line. I can switch and I am trying to cut short turns on my switch side only as well....need to improve in that field. I cannot yet board in powder on my switch side. I can do very, very simple jumps and I have no experience in freestyle. I would like to improve my freestyle, do 180, 360, etc... jumps and tricks on the slope (butter, etc..). Thanks!

I recommend UCPA (French organisation for all sorts of outdoor sports and activities), great also for getting to know people and practising French :-) They offer weekends, short breaks and longer courses and it's all included (food, material, ski pass etc). www.ucpa.com
You can also ask at the International Ski Club in Geneva, they offer day trips every week with or without lessons (although for the snowboard it depends on the number of participants). You have to bring your own material though. www.scig.ch
