I would appreciate any recommendations for a gym membership in Basel. I prefer one that is not expensive, but not cheap and overcrowded either. The availability of a swimming pool or jacuzzi spa is a plus.
Thanks![/font]

I am a member at this gym: http://www.swiss-training.com/.
Its near the St. Johann / Voltaplatz locality and I took it initially as its very close to my house. Later I realized its great value for money and the staff are very friendly. This place is a strog recommend from my side if you live closeby.
Cheers!

I am a member at City Sport at Claraplatz - no pool but does have saunas and steam baths for men and women (separate). I get a discount form working for Roche, maybe your company has a deal with them also.
I like that they open at 6:45 am and I can go before work sometimes. Other gyms open later.
Some friends are members at John Valentine in Aeschenplatz and that has a pool.
Happy hunting
