Wormery

Hello. Does anyone in the Fribourg/Bern area have a wormery they are looking to get rid of? Or if you know a place where I could buy one, please let me know.

Thanks.

Re: Wormery
Post 1

Hi Vidya,

I do not have a wormery to get rid of, however we have one on our own (on our balcony, in Bern) and I can send you some useful information on how to start one or where to buy one.

Attached you find a photo of our self-made worm bin. I got all the necessary materials like the box (http://www.doitgarden.ch/g3.cms/s_page/713010/s_level/5012340/s_product/6033.404), the styrofoam (for insulation) and the mosquito net (against worms leaving and flies entering) from Migros Do it & Garden. As main bedding material I use saw dust (in addition to old newspapers and dry leaves), which I also buy in Migros.

For the above bin I bought 250g of worms from this website: http://www.biogarten.ch/de/kompostwurmer-2115 . They can send it to you by mail.

All you need to know about worms, including how to build a wormery and how to take care of it, you find in this short book: http://www.bookdepository.com/book/9780898159943?redirected=true&viewCountry=CH&selectCurrency=CHF&gclid=CLKor6-BuMACFQsKwwodYH0Agg

If you don't want to build your own bin you can also buy a wormery, for example here: http://www.biogarten.ch/de/etagen-wurmkomposter .

For more information don't hesitate to send me a private message.

Best regards,

Patrick
