family things to do/eat in Bern?

We'll be in Bern for a few hours on Thursday and are looking for somewhere to have lunch and something fun for us to do with two small kids.  Does anyone have any recommendations for a restaurant that's family friendly or any touristy things to do?

Are the bears worth a visit?

Thank you!

Hi,

If you hop on the 12 bus heading towards Paul Klee, this passes a lot of Bern's attractions.

There's the old town, Einstein house, bear enclosure (with baby bears), rose garden then up to Paul Klee Museum. There's lots of other things to see as well. It's Museumnacht here in Bern on Friday. There's the natural history museum, tours of the Bundeshaus, Kunstmuseum, Tierpark etc.

If you're not sure, the tourist office is located in the bahnhof, they sometimes run walking tours around Bern in various languages.

I hope that helps!

In terms of restaurants, you could try the Markethalle, there's lots of different options there. Some of the themed restaurants may be nice for families - Desperados, Papa Joes but there are lots of eating places in Bern so if you just wander around, you should find something that you like.

Enjoy Bern, Susanne.
