Help to build up an attractive CV and covering letter in english - unlimited French lessons !

Hi there,

I need your help.

I am looking for a job in an international company but I would like to make The perfect CV 2011. (by the way, if you have any contact for vacancies I AM OPEN LOL)

So if somebody (native english) could help me to do it,  I would be grateful  to give French lessons.

Good deal no ?

So if you are interested, please contact me ASAP to start on Monday for example.

Cheers

 Hi Dorinne2000

I think you might warm up to the idea that there is no such thing as “the perfect CV”. There are numerous ways of writing a cv some good and some not so go. The best CV is one which gets you the job you have applied for J.

Saying that, there are some things you need to keep in mind, like:

What type of a job you are you applying for?

What do you want the reader to remember about your CV?

What skills the employer is looking for? Etc

Is the aim to tell him/her everything about you? Well not really, just give them enough information to be interested in you to get you an interview. If you tell them everything, what will you talk about in your face to face interview?

Format of CVs: Again no such thing as “the best” format, but think of you CV as if it were a newspaper. Use the front page wisely….it is the only page that will make the reader want to turn to the next page !

I am happy to help out with your cv but cant really put everything on this site. Let me know if you would like to get a CV created and when you need to send it out. I am sure we can get something done for you. Please note that you know yourself better then anyone else, so the information has to come from you.

 Take care

Dear Bhushan,

First of all thank you for your advices, it is much more than I expected.

I don't know why but I can't do properly my CV by myself (self-confidence) and I really have to do it as soon as possible.

I would prefer to meet a person (speak french by the way) in a cyber for ex. to get my CV.

Thank you again for your help.

Cheers

Hi Dorinne

If you want I can help you build up your cv, but this is not a matter of an hour or two. It can take time, depending on the amount of “stuff” you want to explain in your resume.

If you want we can meet up and start building the document, but I will need a computer (laptop) with MS word on it, do you have one?

Do you want to meet up? Let me know my contact at work is e-mail: [email protected] or Tel:  +41 44 238 3914

 B

PN: I do not speak french, just German or English

Hi folks,

I deleted a few of the replies on this thread because they were nasty and childish.

I've said it many times and I'm saying it again - be nice!!!

If your reason for posting is to point out a spelling error in someone else's post, or to try to berate him/her for something they posted - turn off your computer, go take a walk, and consider some anger management sessions.

Oded - I know (on some of the forums) I've been a bit of a naughty girl (guilty as charged m'lud!!) in the past, but I salute you with this decision. Thank you for being the voice of reason (yet again).....Cool

Dorinne, if you would like to send me a note with a personal email address, I will send you a copy of my revised CV.  As part of a redundancy package last year, I got professional advice on writing my CV and also training on interview techniques.

I got several interviews after I re-wrote my CV and I got an excellent job offer after only one month of being unemployed (and I don't even speak much French!).

Would be happy to help by email (seldom in Gevena) and pass on any useful information.

Hi everyone,

I'm a bit late on the conversation but I didn't really need to search for this until now.

If anyone of you is still around to see this, I am in urgent need for advice on my CV as well.  I have been searching for a job over a year now and with no success. Not even an interview.  I am not believing that it is my CV.  Help please.  Is anyone willing to take a look?

Much thanks in advance.
