does anyone have an old phone laying around in a drawer somewhere that they could let me use for a month? as long as it is unlocked and the buttons still work, that is all I need. Will buy new sim card.

that you can borrow for a month if that can help you out short-term. It's an old ERicsson but in good working order. I'll definitely need it back after a month though as I use it when I go to the UK.
