second hand bike?
Hi there, my bike was stolen. So I decided to buy a second hand one, but in good shape and well equipped. It must have Deore level shifter and brakes. Or better.

Anybody relocating and leaving the bike behind?

If not, do you know if there is a shop in/around Geneva that sells SH bikes? (To be honest I do not want to buy the bike from "guys" that can give me from time to time an interesting offer - my old one could be in the offer...)

Thanks a lot,

Florin

you should go to Peclo; it is an association that repair and sell second hand bikes. sometimes they have good ones, sometimes not...so you might go there several times before you find what you want.

I can not remember the address, but it is easy to find. it is the first little street on the right side after the building of "Armee du Salut" (Salvation army) in rue de la servette....you can not miss it..there are bikes everywhere

Florin:

Join the club. My bike was stolen 3 times already this summer!

So I did the same math as you and went for a cheap bike. I found our the best option is to buy a new low-end bike at SportXXX (in Balexert). It sells for CHF 299, and you know what - it's good enough to last 1-2 full seasons, if you're not a pro.

Okay, you're scaring me. My 2000 CHF bike is not coming to Geneva with me or stays with me all the time. Hence, I need a bike to get to work..

What kind of bike did you get für 299CHF? Does it have lights? Sounds like an option to me, considering I got no money, but 3 high-priced MTB at home already.
