...montreux jazz festival 2007
The weather has warmed up. The skies are blue again. The music tops it all. Montreux has a fantastic line up of artists this year for the Auditorium, Hall and Chillon performances. Well organized, even though some shows have started late. Unavoidable perhaps, when two or more major bands are performing the same day and same place. Regardless, when the music is unleashed, the sound envelops, and sweeps the audience with it. The creative genius of these artists is uplifting.

Beyond the music, equally interesting is the story of the artists who perform, the volunteers, the photographers, and the few interesting audience members who welcome casual conversations.

The street side music shows are entertaining even though they do not get the benefit of the acoustics and technology. Lots of places to get a drink, many lake-front stalls to grab something to eat, and enough spaces to just sit or dangle your feet over the lake - music playing in the background and Alps painting the sunset in front of you.

If time allows, try Montreux by July 21.
